A famous Japanese poem is written on the sides of the teapot and tea cups.
Teapot holds 24 ounces and is 4-1/2 inches in diameter and 4-3/4 inches tall. Has it's own removable strainer basket, that is not shown in picture.
Comes with 4 tea cups that are each 3 inches in diameter and 3-3/8 inches tall.
Tea cups hold 5 ounces each.

Mr. Michizane Sugawara had a lingering fondness for Kyoto. He wrote this now famous poem before his depature from that city as he gazed on a flowering plum tree in his garden.
"If the spring wind blows
plum flower
please deliver the fragrance
of your flowers.
Do not forget spring is coming
even though I won't be home."
